Parents Take Back Control Of TV Time
Tired of your kids sitting numbly amid piles of junk food, watching television hour by hour instead of playing outside or making new friends? Are they spending so much time on video games they've forgotten how to talk? At your wits end on how to curb television time without resorting to locking them in the attic and feeding them gruel? Fret no more, there is a new gadget out there that can help you take back control of the television. This little gadget operates like a smart timer, allowing parents to program in up to three viewing times each day. Of course, kids being the technological marvels that they are, it won't take them long to figure out all they have to do to defeat it it unplug the gadget, then plug the television back into the wall. That means investing in one of those locking plexiglass things you usually see over office thermostats to prevent temperature wars might be a good secondary purchase. The gadget is controlled by a PIN number set by the parents. You might want to set a new PIN every few days, just in case your kids are either a) smarter than you or b) number geniuses. The site claims the PIN will keep the television cord locked into the timer, but I'd still take precautions in case it is easier to figure out than they think. From the product site:
